The Computational Linguistics Lab has 16 dual-processor dual-boot machines, providing computational and [:LabCorpora:corpus] resources for the [http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/dept/linguist/ SDSU Linguistics Department].
Where is the lab?
The lab is located in PSFA 132 ([http://www.sdsu.edu/map/display.cgi?209,60 map]), right next to the SSRL computer lab, over by the new Arts & Letters Building construction.
What hours is the lab open?
The lab is open 8am to 7pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8am to 5pm on Friday. The lab is closed on weekends and holidays. You can log in remotely 24-7.
What are the hostnames of the machines?
Please note: this section needs to be updated. As of April 2006, the machines have been renamed to ngram, phoneme, morpheme, phrase, mora, syllable, foot, subj, obj, xcomp, onset, nucleus, coda, and sentence.
The main server/gateway is bulba. If you're doing anything with much CPU or RAM load, please proceed to one of the other machines. (You can enter ssh ngram at the command prompt, for example.) Half of the machines in the lab have 2gb of physical memory and a large local scratch disk (morpheme, ngram, nucleus, obj, sentence, syllable, turn, and xcomp), and the rest have 1gb memory.
